As an execution for the sustainable strategic plan for the Ministry of Municipality, and in support to the Zero Waste campaign, The Ministry of Municipality organizes 2nd Waste Management Conference & Exhibition – Doha 2022, on 13th & 14th June 2022.
Through this conference, the Ministry of Municipality aspires to develop the waste management system, raise awareness, highlight the latest methods in waste management, produce energy, fertilizer and recyclable materials, support the idea of community participation to preserve the environment, and encourage investment in this domain, as the conference attracts many government institutions, private sector, international and regional bodies to get acquainted with the latest technology in the field of waste management, treatment and disposal.
The conference will be held over two days at the Sheraton Doha Hotel & Resort during the period from 13 to 14 June 2022. The conference will organize number of workshops, seminars and lectures from local, regional and international specialists in the waste management and recycling sector, through which they present their expertise and personal experiences or through their local and international companies in this regard. matter.
An exhibition will also be organized accompanying the conference, in which many governmental and semi-governmental departments and institutions in the field of waste management, in addition to local, regional and international companies and factories specialized in this field.
The Ministry of Municipality launched the Zero Waste Campaign under the slogan “Less Waste…More Beautiful City”. The campaign aims to reach an advanced level of community awareness of the importance of waste as part of resource sustainability, and to achieve many goals aimed at improving waste management, which helps mitigate its effects. On the health and safety of society and improving the quality of life, in order to achieve the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Clean and renewable energy
The launch of this national campaign comes within the great interest that the State of Qatar attaches to the issue of waste recycling, and the most important characteristic of the (Zero Waste) campaign is a community campaign, in which various state agencies and institutions participate and support, including governmental, semi-governmental, private, and educational institutions. It also aims to encourage companies, institutions, and individuals to reduce the use of waste-producing materials, increase the use of recycled materials, develop a methodology of thinking about waste management and its importance, support community participation and encourage investment in the field of recycling, in addition to intensifying campaigns and awareness programs, in order to achieve the ministry’s goals of providing sustainable services to green and clean cities by 2030.
